Susan Fletcher was about to meet her boyfriend, David Becker, at their favorite bed and breakfast, Stone Manor, when she was called by her commander to the NSA, stating that it was an emergency. Susan was a cryptographer, who cracked complex codes for a living. She also worked for the NSA, “apparently, not only did the NSA exist, but it was considered one of the most influential government organizations in the world” (9). The NSA also contained a machine, called Trnsltr, which could break trillions of codes in minutes, and helped thwart numerous attacks on the U.S. But when this organization are threatened with a code that could cripple U.S. intelligence forever, Susan must do everything she can, with help, to stop it. In this book, Digital Fortress, by Dan Brown, the characters’ personalities and emotions are brilliantly conveyed, and the setting of the story not only adds to the suspense, but makes it even more thrilling. A techno thriller not worth putting down.

ReplyDeleteThis book sounds like a good suspense/thriller. Even if they are just cracking codes it still seems like a book with lots of action.

ReplyDeleteI read this book and it was very good and had a very good ending. The only reason I didn't like it so much was that it was pretty dirty.
