Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose

Undaunted Courage

One of the greatest stories in American history is the story of Lewis and Clark’s trek west. Their amazing journey is captured and detailed in Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose. Ambrose shares with the reader all the moments and details from St. Louis to the Pacific and back. I loved how he helped the reader comprehend all that was happening and even take us into the minds of each individual. He gives us all the possibilities to why Lewis committed suicide. “ Gov. Lewis had from early life been subject to hypocondriac affections.” (467). I feel that after reading Undaunted Courage I know all there is to know about Lewis and Clark.
